Hello. I do hope you're enjoying your weekend. Here's my latest article:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/nov/30/italy-parents
I'm afraid this is turning into my "I have written an article" blog, which is not very interesting for anyone, is it? Especially as I write articles relatively often. It's not like you're going to go "Gadzooks! An article? By Ariane? How quaintly novel!" (Before anyone else says it, a novel would be quaintly novel, but let's not dwell on my inadequacies today...)
So yes, we've all been here before. And again. And I repeat myself. If you truly wanted to know each time I wrote an article, you could sign up to the RSS feed and be done with it.
But I think I like to tell you, because the articles are the brightest bits of my life, like the lights in a shop window even when the store is shut and empty.

It's a really good article - well done! 'Don't Enoch it' is great.
As someone who rarely looks at the Guardian site, I like to know when new articles are up so don't sweat it.
Ha ha, that's brilliant but was 'Gadzooks' really necessary?
My sister's just had a son, I'm going to see if I can convince her on Benito, does MSI-Fiamma Tricolore (cool name by the way) offer some sort of referral bonus?
So enjoyed catching up on some of your previous oeuvres that I've taken your advice on the feed. As for the Benito business, I wonder if anyone else will take the idea up. Lots of potential little Rudyards sponsored by the Kipling Society, for example? Stelio's from the Budget Airline Association?
I tried to sign up for the RSS feed but my hairy fingers really aren't made for a keyboard. I'm using voice recognition software to type this.
Great article, Ariane, but let's talk comedy. Peep Show wasn't the only great programme on UK telly this year. Curb Your Enthusiasm (the undisputed #1) made a welcome return. We also had Saxondale, The Mighty Boosh and - currently showing - Lead Balloon.
I like the word 'Gadzooks'. Unfortunately, I've never heard anybody actually speak it. It's probably one for the time machine.
Thats very poetic but slightly sad imagery about the lights and the closed shops...you are clever.
Ace article as always! Now I can never see the names Ben and Rachel in the same way
xxxxxx
Graham: Thanks a lot. Though it's had its Enochers...
Josh: 'Gadzooks' is always necessary. And yes, MSI-Fiamma definitely provide a "Share £100 With A Friend!" initiative.
Tobias: Many thanks. Given that Tobias is a rather nice name, maybe you should do it yourself?
Duohedron: That must be the best voice recognition software ever. My friend once used a program which kept calling me "Arraign".
MJB: Ah yes, forgot about CYE. I'm not such a big fan of the others I'm afraid, but thinking about what I've watched recently, Inbetweeners can be very funny. Glad you liked the piece.
Catie: Thanks for the kind comment. I hope you will be unduly suspicious of all Bens and Rachels from this point onwards.
Ariane, I'm surprised you're not keen on Lead Balloon. As a writer, I thought you would appreciate the nifty storylines. A lot of people in the comedy industry seem to be quite snotty about it. They're wrong.
One thing you should definitely seek (if you havn't already done so) is the Larry Sanders show. It's an absolute royal flush. I recently got the new 23-episode boxset, and I'll soon be ordering the (slightly illegal) complete collection. That's my Christmas TV schedule sorted out + The Royle Family.
PS. I'll be diplomatic re the Inbetweeners - it's not my cup of tea.
Sorry MJB, I should have said: I haven't seen Lead Balloon yet. Mighty Boosh and Saxondale aren't my choice of hot beverage, but I do enjoy Curb Your Enthusiasm (though I always thought they should call it Happy As Larry).
Oh, and I've only seen one episode of Inbetweeners, but my flatmate and I both really enjoyed it.
did you see that atheists are to blame for the death of baby p according to mary kenny in the irish independent newspaper

I did thanks, and I covered it on the second post on this page:

And also on this thread on the Atheist Bus Campaign Facebook group:

I wouldn't worry about it overly, though. She's a few raisins short of a full Fruit 'N' Nut.
thanks for the links, while your here, im sure you also noticed a similar article was published by the guardian.
seeing as the readers editors response to complaints about david cox calling for more torture for ira prisoners was that it was in the CIF section and therefore standards of decency didn't apply and im sure she'll say the same to complaints about mary kenny.
